Hypnotherapy - Brighton & Hove

Stop smoking & light up your life!

More and more people are making the decision to stop smoking. Join them now!

Many people are choosing to stop smoking to improve their health, save money and to feel fitter, as smoking becomes less and less acceptable.

Some smokers despite being keen to give up experience some apprehension of giving up the habit that they've lived with for so long.

Hypnotherapy helps break the association that smokers have made to various events or feelings.

Once you stop the nicotine is flushed from your body within about 48 hours.

Once you have stopped there are a number of things that can make stopping easier:

• Remember the reasons why you gave up   and the benefits of being free of the habit..   It can help to write them down

• Drink plenty of water to rehydrate your   body and flush out the toxic chemicals

• Take a high dose of Vitamin C
(1000-2000mg per day) for the first few   days, to help with the cleansing process.

• Licorice root (500 - 200 mg per day),   helps detoxify the liver; boosts adrenal   function to reduce stress. (Do not take if   you have high blood pressure).

Stop smoking - no weight gain!

Nicotine is a fast acting stimulant, and the drug causes the body to release its stores of sugar. This tricks the body into thinking that no more food is needed, and so artificially suppresses the appetite.

When eating it can take up to 20 minutes from chewing before the sugars are released into the blood, to fuel the brain and to feel full.

When first stopping some people want to eat more to get the same full filling. When eating it takes up to 20 minutes longer than the drug interaction of nicotine to feel full. So, to get the same full feeling an ex-smoker will need to eat for 20 minutes - and you can alot in that time!

The body will usually readjust to its natural regulation of blood sugars after about three days.

Once you stop smoking it is important to have three meals a day, with complex carbohydrates at each meal to keep blood sugar levels constant.

For the first few days keep drinking fruit juice throughout the day to help maintain blood sugar levels.

Hypnosis and hypnotherapy can help you stop smoking easily and for good.
